Newborn Session – What you Need to Know

You’re searching through website after website, Facebook page after Facebook page – it’s just so daunting.  There are so many photographers to choose from on the Gold Coast it’s hard to know where to start and what exactly you’ll get for your money.  These are photographs of your precious baby and you want to make sure they’re perfect and that your baby is safe.  I’m here to break it down for you, whether you choose Simone Elisabeth Photography or not.

1.

Safety is ALWAYS our first priority.  I will ask how your birth went, how your bubba has been going and how you are going yourself.  This information is super important.  Firstly, there are times I will need a second pair of hands and I don’t want to put you in a position you are not physically able to do.  I will never attempt or push a pose if I can see your baby isn’t happy.  Your family is my first priority, without exception.

2.

After your arrival, you will enter my calm studio, where the temperature will be adjusted according to what we need for your baby to be comfortable.  Once we are settled, we will discuss the colour tones you would like for your baby – be it dusty pinks or blue, natural earth tones or neutral with a pop of colour.

Family photos are really important and I highly recommend having them done during your newborn session.  If there are siblings present, then we will aim to do these first.  I know they get bored! I have toys and a playground outside they’re most welcome to enjoy.  Alternatively, once family photos are done, one parent can leave with the older children if they so wish.  If the children are old enough, I’m always happy to include them in the process.

After family photos are done, I will proceed with newborn photos – these will consist of simple, elegant poses, then moving onto props that you have specifically chosen.

Each newborn session has been allowed 2 – 4hours.  These gives us plenty of time for feeding, changes and loads of snuggles.  It’s important to me that everyone is relaxed and that you get to sit back and enjoy yourselves.

Once we are all wrapped up and said our goodbyes, I will personally edit each photograph for you.  A sneak peek will be provided within 48hours of your session.  Editing usually takes up to 2 weeks to complete.  Once completed, I will be in contact and arrange a time to hand over your beautiful works of art of your sweet baby.

6.

Pricing – all my packages clearly state what’s included.  I have no hidden / extra costs unless you choose to purchase something on top of that package.  My sessions do not consist of paying for the session and then expecting further payment for your photographs.  All that is required is a 10% non-refundable deposit to secure your date & time.
